You’ve built a
successful life.
How do you want to live it?

Private Stoic mentorship for accomplished people who want to make clearer decisions and handle pressure with greater composure.

Over three months, I build a personal training programme around your temperament, responsibilities and the situations you want to handle differently. We work together as you put it into practice.

A personal training planGuidance as you practise

The starting point

Success brings
its own questions.

You can be good at your work and still spend the evening second-guessing a decision. You might handle responsibility all day, then find yourself impatient with the people you care about. Or you’ve reached a goal you worked towards for years and aren’t sure what deserves your attention next.

We take a close look at one difficulty that matters to you. Your assessment gives us questions to explore; the intake conversation helps us understand what is happening in your life.

Then I put together your training plan. You will have a clear practice to work on, a way to notice progress and personal feedback as you go.

Who this is for

You carry responsibility.
You want to carry it well.

This is for founders, senior professionals and other accomplished people who want to work on how they make decisions, respond under pressure and live outside work. You don’t need a particular job title, but you do need a situation you’re willing to examine and practise with.

01You’ve built something you value and can name a pattern you want to change.

02You want thoughtful personal guidance, with room to question and disagree.

03You’re willing to make room for a small practice between sessions.

This programme is coaching for adults. It is not therapy or crisis support. We discuss suitability before either of us commits.

How we work together

Understand yourself.
Train in your life.

The programme has a clear structure. The focus and pace come from the person doing the work.

01

Assessment and intake

Before our opening 90-minute call, you complete a 50-item Big Five personality questionnaire and a short reflection on your goals. We discuss what fits, what doesn’t and what useful progress would look like.

The questionnaire is a starting point for conversation. It does not diagnose you or decide your programme.

02

Your personal training plan

After the intake, I create a written plan around our agreed focus. It sets out the practice to begin with, how to use it in an everyday situation and what to notice. We agree a manageable amount of practice together.

03

Practice with feedback

Five further 60-minute video calls, normally fortnightly, give us time to review your experience and adjust the plan. Between calls, you have one written check-in each week and a personal reply on an agreed weekly reply day.

We agree the check-in deadline, reply day and any planned time away before starting.

04

A plan you can carry forward

In our final session, we review the evidence of progress and what still needs work. You leave with an updated practice plan and a written guide to continuing independently.

An example fortnight

Small enough
to practise.

An illustration of the process, not a client story or a promised result.

Suppose you keep agreeing to work requests and then feel resentful or distracted at home. In a call, we examine a recent example and practise asking for time to think before answering.

Your plan gives you one situation in which to try that response. In your weekly check-in, you describe what happened and where it felt difficult. I reply with feedback or a question to help you look more closely.

At the next call, we decide whether to repeat the practice, simplify it or work on what it revealed. Your plan changes with what we learn.

Your coach

I’m Jon.

More about my work

I’m the founder of The Stoic Handbook, where I write, record and teach practical Stoicism. I also work privately with coaching clients.

My interest is in what happens when an idea meets an ordinary, difficult day. In this programme, we use that experience to shape your training. I develop your plan and work with you directly throughout the three months.

You bring your experience. I bring questions, feedback and practices we can test together. You remain the person making the decisions.

Private mentorship

Let’s see whether
we’re a good fit.

US$3,000 for the full three months

Start with a short application. I’ll read it personally and, if the fit looks promising, email you to arrange a time for a short conversation. We’ll discuss your questions before either of us commits.

No payment is taken when you apply. Before payment, you receive the agreed start and end dates, session arrangements and written payment, rescheduling and cancellation terms.

The next step

Tell me what you’d
like to work on.

A few sentences are enough. You don’t need to have it all figured out.

A few practical questions

Do I need to know much about Stoicism?

You don’t need to know the terminology. It helps to be curious about your own thinking and willing to practise. We’ll use ideas where they help with the situation you bring.

Is this a course or access to the Stoic Vault?

You receive a personal training plan and work directly with me. There is no fixed course to complete. Stoic Vault and Stoic Anxiety Mastery membership are not included; I select any supporting resources around your training.

How does the personality assessment work?

We use a public-domain Big Five questionnaire. Your answers produce a profile for us to discuss alongside your goals and real experiences. You can disagree with any interpretation, or discuss an alternative if a questionnaire does not suit you. There is no pass or fail.

What do I need to do between calls?

Try the practice we agree and bring back an example of what happened. We choose a realistic amount of work at intake and adjust it if it is too much. You also have one written check-in each week.

What if I need to move a session?

We agree scheduling, rescheduling and cancellation terms before you pay. If your availability is uncertain, mention that in the fit conversation so we can decide whether the timing works.

Can you promise a particular result?

No. We can agree what we’re working towards, make time for the work and review your progress honestly. A particular emotional state or life outcome isn’t something I can guarantee.

What happens after three months?

The engagement ends without automatic renewal. You keep your training plan, practice notes and written continuation guide.
